#Setia4Malaysia

#SETIA4MALAYSIA started with the means of giving back towards communities as well as to uplift the Malaysian spirit. In line with our sustainability journey, this campaign encompasses four key initiatives centred on corporate social responsibility, with the aim of highlighting the importance of kindness, supporting communities in need, and engaging Team Setia at home.

#Setia4Malaysia Unity Run

The annual celebration of unity and togetherness- #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run is more than just a marathon, it represents the collective spirit of Malaysians and the local communities. It brings people from all walks of life together, young and young-at-heart, novice and seasoned runners, differently-abled individuals and people of various ethnicities, fostering a culture of inclusivity and support that binds Malaysians together.

2023 - Setia AlamImpian & Setia Aeropod

Back by popular demand and even grander than ever, we hosted the unity run at not one, but two locations—Setia AlamImpian in Shah Alam and Setia Aeropod in Kota Kinabalu—on 20 August 2023 and 3 September 2023, respectively. More than 4,000 participants from all walks of life gathered at these locations for a fun-filled day in the spirit of togetherness.

Beyond the exhilarating races, we curated a diverse range of activities, including interactive games, side activities, and performances to keep the festive spirit alive. One of the highlights of the unity run was the performances by Team Setia, including a mind-blowing percussion performance by Setia Harmony percussionists and soulful singing from the talented Voices of Setia singers.

2022- 1st Physical Unity Run

As physical events made a joyful return post-pandemic, #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run 2022 saw a fantastic turnup of more than 2,000 participants at Setia Bayuemas Lake Park in Klang on 18 September 2022. Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports along with Celsius, Dadi Cinema, Neutrovis and Ultron, the event consisted of a 5km fun run and a 21.1km half marathon, as well as fun activities for all including aerobic zumba, face painting, roller blading and Insta-cubes to capture Instagrammable moments. Despite the weather conditions, participants enjoyed themselves and embraced the challenge in the spirit of Merdeka and togetherness.

#Setia4Malaysia Unity Run 2021

Our very first #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run started as a virtual run, serving as a platform to engage communities and promote a healthier and united Malaysia amidst the lockdown and travel restrictions on Merdeka Day. From 16 September to 16 October, more than 1500 runners completed an accumulated 5km or 21km run each within the spaces of their neighbourhoods, achieving a total distance of almost 47,000km by the end of the event.

Setia PPV Heroes Initiative

Six S P Setia event venues across the nation were appointed as Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPVs), of which four being mega PPVs, to facilitate the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme and help the nation reach herd immunity at a faster rate.

To show appreciation towards the dedicated frontliners and volunteers who have sacrificed their time to serve the community, S P Setia Foundation distributed more than 2,300 servings of savoury and sweet Malaysian snacks and desserts to approximately 1,060 frontliners and volunteers of the PPVs in the central region, namely Setia EcoHill Club 360 in Semenyih, Setia Eco Templer Clubhouse in Rawang and Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam.

The Setia PPV Heroes initiative also continued in Penang at the Setia SPICE Arena and Setia SPICE Convention Centre mega PPVs. Snack packs with 4,000 servings of Malaysian sweet and savoury dessert and snacks were distributed to approximately 800 frontliners and volunteers there.

Empowering the B40 microenterprises

In collaboration with EdgeProp Malaysia, we initiated a Caring Community Campaign themed ‘Alongside our B40s’, providing financial support to B40 F&B microenterprises in the Klang Valley and Penang which have been struggling to keep their businesses afloat amidst the pandemic.

Throughout a 13-day nomination in August, more than 130 B40 microenterprises which needed a helping hand were nominated by Malaysians. Among them, 25 of the microenterprises were shortlisted. We sponsored RM500 to upgrade their businesses and purchased food from the selected microenterprises to donate it to nearby underprivileged homes for six months.

Truly Malaysian Masterchef

Spreading the Merdeka-Malaysia Day cheer, we engaged Team Setia across the nation from home through the Truly Malaysian Masterchef cooking activity. Participants were provided a mystery cooking kit to prepare a well-loved Malaysian dessert using the ingredients and recipes provided.

Approximately 120 staff members participated in the Truly Malaysian Masterchef activity and took up the challenge to make apam kukus, sago gula melaka, coconut candy or tang yuan (glutinous rice balls) with their loved ones at home.
