PETALING JAYA (July 1): S P Setia Bhd has launched \u201cSetia Lenscape\u201d, a nationwide photography campaign that invites Malaysians to rediscover its townships by exploring selected projects and capturing images of their parks, public spaces, architecture and everyday community life.<\/p>\n
According to S P Setia, the campaign is held in collaboration with EdgeProp Malaysia as the exclusive media partner and UCSI University as the academic partner, with the aim of inspiring the public to experience its townships through a creative lens that highlights their landscapes, communities, lifestyles and placemaking over the years.<\/p>\n
Open to photography enthusiasts, hobbyists, Setia purchasers, and members of the public, Setia Lenscape encourages participants to visit selected townships nationwide and capture images that reflect the unique identity, vibrancy and sense of place within these developments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
From parks and waterfronts to public spaces, architecture and everyday community life, the competition seeks to showcase the many experiences that make these townships more than just a place to live.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIn collaboration with EdgeProp and UCSI University, Setia Lenscape serves as a platform where creativity meets purpose, capturing the stories, connections and shared experiences that transform townships into vibrant, sustainable communities for generations to come,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
S P Setia\u2019s statement notes that UCSI University, which it highlights as being ranked in the world\u2019s top 1% of universities in the QS World University Rankings 2027, will provide an academic dimension to the competition through the involvement of its academics in the judging process.<\/p>\n
UCSI\u2019s participation is intended to ensure that entries are assessed not only for technical quality but also for storytelling, originality and their ability to capture the essence of place.<\/p>\n
\u201cGreat photography goes beyond aesthetically pleasing images. It captures emotion, context and human connection,\u201d said Assistant Professor Teoh Chee Keong from UCSI University\u2019s School of Architecture and Built Environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough our participation in the judging panel, we hope to encourage photographers to look beyond the obvious and tell compelling visual stories that reflect how people experience these environments.\u201d<\/p>\n
Throughout the campaign period, participants are encouraged to visit S P Setia\u2019s townships nationwide, where they can discover a wide range of photographic subjects, from expansive parks and tree-lined boulevards to recreational amenities, community gathering spaces and architectural landmarks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe campaign celebrates not only the visual appeal of these master planned townships but also the principles of thoughtful design that have become synonymous with S P Setia\u2019s developments,\u201d said EdgeProp Malaysia head of editorial and commercial strategy Jacqueline Lim.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe the best way to understand a township is to experience it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campaign will culminate in a judging process involving representatives from S P Setia, EdgeProp Malaysia and UCSI University, with entries recognised for their creativity and for how well they capture the character and spirit of S P Setia\u2019s townships.<\/p>\n
Submissions are open from July 6 to August 31, with a total prize pool of up to RM50,000 to be won.<\/p>\n
