MIP Thinkcity MyPLACE Awards 2017

Private Sector Placemaking Category Winner - MIP-Think City MyPlace is a community-focused urban regeneration organization based in George Town, Penang, with operations in Kuala Lumpur, Butterworth, and Johor Bahru. As a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and funded by Yayasan Hasanah, they work closely with local authorities, communities, institutions, private entities, and global experts to trial, plan, and implement programs to rejuvenate cities and solve contemporary urban issues with an emphasis on historic city centres.

Malaysia Book of Record

On June 15 2017, SPICE Convention Centre (Eco Meridian Sdn Bhd) has been acknowledge by the Malaysia Book of Records for having the Largest Rooftop Recreational Park, Largest Subterranean Pillarless Ballroom, First Hybrid Solar-Powered Convention Centre. The spectacular rooftop park provides 30,521 square metres of recreational area. It is also equipped with a spacious playground for special needs children, a bamboo park, and an urban spice garden, all accessible from 6am - 10pm daily.

ILAM Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards 2017

Honour Award in Landscape Development Award. Developer & GLC Category - Setia SPICE was conferred the Honour Awards in Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards (MLAA) in Landscape Development Award Developer & GLC Category which was presented at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 21 April 2018

An array of 654 twinkling lights create an everchanging kaleidsocope of colours across the venue's iconic curving roof, captivating many who lay eyes on it. In Conjunction with the 61st celebration of Merdeka day and Malaysia Day Setia SPICE Convention Centre's Iconic Roof presents an ever-changing coloured design of 'Jalur Gemilang' with the 'Sayangi Malaysiaku' tagline powered by the First Hybrid Solar Powered fittings 654 twinkling lights - the first of its kind in Asia.

Purpose Built Award - Setia SPICE was conferred the Winner in FIABCI Malaysia Awards 2019 in Purpose-Built Category which was presented at the One World Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 18 November 2018

Gold Awards Special Merit - Setia SPICE was recognized with the prestigious Association of Consulting Engineering Malaysia (ACEM) Engineering Awards 2019- Gold Award of Special Merit, the association’s highest on 22 September 2019

Green Building Index (GBI) Certified

The SPICE Convention Centre is GBI-Certified and has been provisionally certified a Silver Rating in April 2018. The rest of the SPICE components boast eco-friendly, progressive features. This has transformed the built environment of the Sire whilst reducing its impact on human health and the surrounding environments. Moreover, building green reduces operating costs, increases value and the return on investment in the long run.

Winner Of 2019 Malaysia Business Events Awards

Setia SPICE Convention Centre (the Centre) has affirmed its market position in the business event industry by winning the “Purpose-Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Excellence Award” at the inaugural Malaysia Business Events Awards (MBEA) 2019 organised by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS).

The Centre is ISO 22000:2018 certified as the certification shows that the company has a comprehensive and effective management system to control food safety hazards and to ensure its quality.
