SHAH ALAM (Sept 7): In the spirit of unity this Merdeka and Malaysia Day, S P Setia is gearing up for an exciting time together for the #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run.
To be held on Sept 18, 2022 at Setia Bayuemas Lake Park, Klang, the event is expecting more than 2,000 participants for its 5km fun run, which is open to all walks of life, and the 21.1km half marathon for running enthusiasts who are up for the challenge.
“#Setia4Malaysia Unity Run, a timely event in conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day, is aimed at promoting awareness in being healthy and having a good way of life.
“This can be achieved by making sure we are sustainable with our lifestyle which is in line with our ‘LiveLearnWorkPlay’ development philosophy because we are also encouraging our community at large as well,” said S P Setia’s chief risk, integrity & governance officer Nuranisah Mohd Anis.
According to chief human resources officer Nadiah Tan Abdullah to be focusing on connectedness is “the core of our DNA”, while emphasising on the spirit of togetherness and inclusivity that the Group aims to spread.
“We believe that we want to do this to have an impact not just on the employees internally, but also the communities we serve,” Nadiah said.
The 10-acre Setia Bayuemas Lake Park, rejuvenated from a retention pond for the residents of Setia Bayuemas and the surrounding community, is expected to promote Setia Bayuemas as a well-planned township in the South of Klang.
Divisional general manager Razly Mohammad Rus looks forward to having the participants experience Setia Bayuemas Lake Park to provide the community with more outdoor recreational spaces and promote wellbeing.
“In tandem with the launch of the park, the #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run 2022 has the objective to not only advocate healthy lifestyles and positivity among the communities but also to promote Setia Bayuemas as a well-planned township in the South of Klang,” said Razly.
Several social media influencers and celebrities are anticipated to join the event, which will be a boost for marathon runners and enthusiasts alike, as they can expect up to 30 of their favourite athletes and fitness influencers running alongside them at the #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run 2022.
“I can't wait for the challenge in the new running environment around S P Setia. Jom and see you all at the upcoming #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run!” said national athlete Penny Loh Chooi Fern.
Fitness enthusiast Azlan Huzeifa, who thanked S P Setia for organising the #Setia4Malaysia Unity Run 2022, said this would be his second attempt at the half marathon.
“Together we strive for a peaceful and healthy nation!” he said.
